This is our 2nd NASCAR race as a team and our goal is to improve every race. The last race at Martinsville gave us much needed insight on what a race team needs to do to be successful in NASCAR. We have ironed out minor issues and plan on being a very competitive team this year. I am proud to announce we have a sponsorship with BDH Constructions Services and FRAXA Organization to help support the awareness of Fragile X Syndrome among NASCAR fans,” Chris Fontaine said. BDH Constructions Services, LLC is a construction company based in Winter Haven, FL that does jobs in the state of Florida. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE FONTAINE TO BE SPONSORED BY FRAXA AT DOVER By Chris Bowers, Photographer, PR Chris Fontaine Inc. Chris Fontaine Inc. is proud to be sponsored by FRAXA for the AAA Insurance 200 at Dover International Speedway on Friday, May 29th. We at Chris Fontaine Inc. are excited to help support awareness of Fragile X Syndrome and will be racing the #84 truck with FRAXA logos. Fragile X is the most common, inherited cause of mental impairment and the most common known cause of autism. Chris Fontaine Inc. will use our race truck and crew to help promote greater public awareness for the disease within the NASCAR racing community by partnering with FRAXA during the running of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at the Dover International Speedway on Friday, May 29th. FRAXA is the Fragile X Research Foundation located in Newburypoint, MA whose mission is to find effective treatments and a cure for all children and adults diagnosed with Fragile X. FRAXA has funded over $17 million in research. The Fragile X permutation can be passed silently down through generations in a family before a child is affected by the syndrome. 1 in 8,000 carrier men pass the permutation to all of their daughters but none of their sons while each child of a carrier woman has a 50% chance of inheriting the gene defect. Fragile X affects 1 in 4,000 males and 1 in 6,000 females of all races and ethnic groups according to the U.S. Center for Disease Control. About 1 in 259 women carry Fragile X and could pass it to their children. Large-scale population studies of Fragile X still need to be done, but it is clear that this is one of the most common genetic diseases in humans. Most people with Fragile X are not yet correctly diagnosed, so testing opportunities need to be increased. Through FRAXA’s successful efforts, a drug is now being developed for the treatment of Fragile X and has received Orphan Drug Designation from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Much of FRAXA’s contributions have come from the Sunshine Lady Foundation founded and operated by Omaha, Nebraska’s Doris Buffett, the sister of business tycoon Warren Buffett. “We at Chris Fontaine Inc. are honored to have the opportunity to work with FRAXA this season. NASCAR has the ability to reach so many people and affect such a vast number of lives, we hope with fans evolvement, to have a better understanding and find a cure for those affected by Fragile X Syndrome.” – Chris Fontaine (Team Owner / Driver #84) More information is available at www.fraxa.org NASCAR CAMPING WORLD TRUCK SERIES DRIVER CHRIS FONTAINE GETS ANOTHER SECOND PLACE FINISH ON OCALA DIRT Chris Fontaine took another second place finish at Ocala Speedway on Friday, May 8. He had qualified the #47 Chevrolet Monte Carlo in second in the heat race, and started the feature in third. The Ocala Speedway press release described the race: "Another strong field of Amsoil V8 Thunder Stock racers began their feature race with all sorts of position changes in the front of the pack, and by the time the fender banging came to order Chris Fontaine seemed to have things under control. That is, until Augie Butram got involved in the racing up front and went head to head with Fontaine for lap after lap. That battle highlighted the entire race, but it was Burtram who finally gained the upper hand and claimed the win. Fontaine held on for a second place finish, followed by a hard charging Jason Gamble who had to fight his way from last place to the front. David Walls and Terry Dunbar rounded out the top five." REPRINTED FROM OCALA SPEEDWAY PRESS RELEASE Fontaine has two wins and two second place finishes of the four races he has run at Ocala in 2009.
